Website User Experience (UX)

There is much more to building a good responsive website than just the aesthetics like colour and images. Truly great websites are designed with UX in mind and the whole purpose is to move the user from a potential lead from being curious to being a customer. mobile website optimization and user experience in Edmonton

Understand Your Users

  • Why UX Matters for Marketing

A website with strong user experience doesn’t just look good—it directly impacts your digital marketing performance. Great UX boosts conversions, maximizes the value of your ad spend, and strengthens every part of your online marketing strategy. For serious advertisers, investing in UX is not optional—it’s essential.

  • Tracking User Behavior

Kastle uses a variety of tools and software to track user behavior from the moment they land on your website—what they do, where they go, and ultimately where they leave. By analyzing these patterns, we can uncover what drives visitors to convert and what causes them to drop off. This insight shapes the UX strategies we use to optimize every page.

Critical Elements of

User Experience

Layout

Just as any book keeps the message flowing, so should your website. Every store you walk into is designed to introduce offerings in a purposeful manner and again so must your website. The easier consumers can navigate your website, the faster they will become a customer of yours.

Content

A common phrase in digital marketing industry is “Content is King” and it never more important than on your website. Rich and unique content will capture more of your visitors attention and lead them down that path to conversion. It will also please the search engines as they know what users expect.

Call to Action

Strategic UX design uses quality Call to Action elements to encourage the user to engage with the site and ultimately convert into a sale. Consumers on a website are ‘clickers’ so websites with great content and easy call to actions tend to produce stronger results.

Imagery

All media channels outside of radio have been utilizing imagery in their marketing efforts for decades and websites are no exception. Having a great image or two that supports the page message goes a long way in convincing the user they are indeed interested in your offering.

Contact Information

At any point that a user is at on your website and decides they want to make contact they should be easily able too. Why make them click onward if they are ready to buy now? Accurate contact information should be strategically placed on all pages of the site for a better user experience.

Navigation

Both consumers and search engines expect your website to be user friendly when it comes to navigating around your information. Easy to find menus, links, call to actions and a site map are all key elements to account for when designing a website.

Header

The header is the very top section of your website which usually contains your logo, business name, contact information and social integrations.  This has been the customary design for decades and avid internet users know and expect to go to the top for this information.  Modern designs have been straying from this pattern however we suggest you test it before you go too far from the main stream.

Your main menu will generate a majority of engagement by users if it is laid out well and has the desired result intended by the user.  Best practice is not to over due your main navigation menu, keeping options to max 7 or 8 depending on the character length of each link.

Way down at the bottom of your page is your Footer section.  The footer is typically used to house any extra information like extra page links, legal information, social media widgets, and of course contact information.

Body

The body of your webpage is simply everything in between your header and footer.  Careful planning and design must be implemented when building the body of your website as this is where most of the action happens.  Quality design will bring you more customers where a poor design will not only cause users to leave your site, but will cost you in marketing budgets spent to get the users there in the first place.

Call To Actions vary from simple anchor links (clickable text) to buttons to images to hover functions or any other option to the user that will further them down their path of conversion.  Initial design of a website often changes many times after analyzing results and implementing UX strategies, all to improve the conversion rate of visitors and drive a higher ROI for your business.

Sliders are typically seen right below the header on most sites, however with more modern designs you can often use a slider in the body of websites to add some animation to the page while introducing more information to the user than one static image can.  Sliders have many different animation abilities and can also be video feeds to impress your user.
